Thoroughbred Club

This elegant lounge is nestled into the ground level of Charleston Place, at 205 Meeting St. Upon joining them for a cocktail, you will be welcomed in by their pianists and friendly staff. They offer top tier craft cocktails, small bites and desserts.

Timeless and Elegant

Clean, classic and beautiful hardwoods line this bar, creating a warm feel for the cozy low-lit tables.

The green arm chairs are cozy and break up the warm golden brown tones that echo throughout the room. Their tables feature leather bound menus and twinkling candles.

Lovely settling into the room before a reservation or to wind down after an evening out. They set up the space like a giant living room, somewhere you would want to sip back and relax.

Inviting

Something about these deep chairs and warming tones pull you in

Their cocktail menu is something to see— creative and unique. They have a wide selection of spirits and wine as well as batches they make in house. Their staff is well versed with the offerings, even as the menu rotates through the seasons.

Each time we’ve been in there have been a few alterations to the menu, some cocktails stay while others rotate off to allow for the growth. I have ordered their “Got the Thyme” cocktail a few times now and have had a different presentation with both as it’s been refined. The other cocktail pictured below is their “Taste of Honey,” featuring hazelnut Jamaican rum, brandy, spiced pear honey and lemon.

Got the Thyme

Basil Gin, Aloe, Lime Cucumber, Thyme

Thoroughbred Club is the perfect atmosphere for an intimate date night—or double date with another couple. The space is perfect to cap the end of a dinner out, as the piano and decor are a lovely way to close the evening— seemingly from the comfort of your (or Charleston’s) living room.

And they give you warm, seasoned nuts to snack on with your cocktails. No complaints here, I love a snack.

Thoroughbred

The gallery walls and decor heavily feature, horses—the theme in both the lounge and it’s name.

Next time you’re out on the town and looking for a nightcap, definitely pop into Thoroughbred Club for an outstanding cocktail.
